ASP Stock Sales! We’re not done yet…

ASP stock sales are well underway and a big THANKS to all of you for your efforts so far. We are almost ¾ of the way to our $21,000 goal!

Here are some ideas for kicking sales up a notch (this is for adults as well as teens):

  • EMAIL: I have pasted a template for what I used to solicit my homeowners association below. Emailing is fast and easy, and saves us a lot of administrative time and cost. Consider emailing neighbors, friends, family, coworkers, or anyone else you didn’t mail a letter to.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA: Paste the donation link (www.oymt.info) on Facebook, Twitter, etc. and share with any other groups or pages that may be able to help.
  • FELLOWSHIP: If they’re not doing it already, ask your priest to advertise the trip in the bulletin and during church announcements stating that you can still receive donations. Also ask to have the church website and Facebook pages post the donation link. Most of the coffee hour sales have wound down by now, but if you’re feeling adventurous, take some forms around the room at coffee hour and tell people about the project. The more they hear, the more they will want to be involved.

Please keep the money and forms clipped together, labeled with either your name or church fellowship, and turn them in at our next meeting on June 5

After the June 5 meeting, I will be emailing you a list of donors that you will need to send Thank You’s to. Keep in mind that it’s a lot easier and cheaper to use email, so make sure to ask people to put their email address on the form if they have one. Hugs are also a free thank you, for those you can reach!

Great job so far, and keep up the good work! See you on June 5.

Hello Wood Lot neighbors!

Once again, I am going on a mission trip to repair homes in Appalachia this July with our church youth group.  I am very excited for our sixth annual weeklong journey to help those in need make their homes warmer, safer, and drier.

If you would like to make a donation, you can pop in and say, “Hi!” or place it in our mailbox (6 Honey Hollow).  Checks should be made payable to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.  There is also a Paypal option via the Donate button at: www.oymt.info. Receipts are available for tax deduction upon request.

To learn more about our parent organization, ASP, visit www.asphome.org.

Any support you can give us is greatly appreciated!

What’s Next: Construction Days 5/14 or 5/21

You will put your safety training into action!

Please join us for one of the two mandatory construction work days  on 5/14 in Bridgeport OR 5/21 in Danbury. Email ssulich@yahoo.com to let Susan know which day/location you will attend.

IMPORTANT: You will need work boots, gloves, longs pants and t-shirts (no sleeveless shirts) for this training session (just as you will when we are working on the trip).

Bring $4 for lunch and any stock sales you have received so far.

NO Adult leader meeting.

What’s Next: Tool Safety Training 4/2 12-4pm in Bridgeport

Saturday, April 2nd,  we have a very important, MANDATORY training session at St. John’s in Bridgeport from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. We will be doing construction and tool training, learning how to SAFELY do the tasks we will need to know how to do for our trip and how to use tools properly. Everyone must attend this session (unless you have already spoken to me and made alternative arrangements). Safety is one of our top priorities on our mission trip and this session is key to making sure everyone has the proper training to do our work well and safely.

IMPORTANT: You will need work boots, long pants and t-shirts (no sleeveless shirts) for this training session (just as you will when we are working on the trip).

Please bring $4 for lunch and any stock sales that you have received so far.

Remember to check our webpage: www.oymt.info if you have any questions and for latest information about our project.

Next meeting 2/21 3pm in Bridgeport

At this meeting we will learn more about what life is like for the families in Appalachia that we will be serving and how ASP chooses the homes that we will work on. At this time, the final payment of $125 per teen is due. If you still have any money from our Friendship Soup sales or outstanding paperwork, please bring that along too. Also bring $4 for dinner.

What’s Next: Meeting 1/24/16 3-5pm in Danbury

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Just a reminder that our January meeting changed to the 24th. Now would be a good time to subscribe to the web calendar at http://oymt.info/calendar/ so you always have the latest schedule. If you scroll all the way to the bottom and hit the subscribe button, you can download the calendar to your local device and it will update automatically should anything change.

While you’re there, familiarize yourself with the team page where we post updates, and click ‘photo gallery’ on the left for pictures. All forms are on the team site too, if you still owe any.

We had a very productive meeting getting to know each other in December, and congratulations on a very successful soup fundraiser!

I look forward to seeing all of you in 2 weeks. Please bring $4 for dinner, as well as any soup money, forms and deposits if still owed. Since this meeting date did change from the original plan, please let Susan know ASAP if you are unable to attend.

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

January meeting date moved

Hello Everyone,

We try very hard to not change any meeting dates once the schedule is set but do to a happy event—the ordination of Fr. Luke’s son Nick to the priesthood—we will be changing the date of our first meeting from January 10th to Sunday, January 24th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (adult leaders meet at 2:15 p.m.) at Holy Trinity Danbury.

If this presents a problem for anyone please let me know.

In Christ,

Susan
