Congratulations!
You're ready to join the team!

Below you’ll find the application and requirements to register for OYMT's 2026-2027 program year.

Registration is almost open for 2026-2027!

OYMT's 2027 Summer Mission Trip will be from July 10-18, 2026. Our trip destination is to be announced. This will be OYMT's 15th mission trip!

First, determine your eligibility & role

OYMT’s 2027 Summer Mission Trip is open to Orthodox Christian Youth Participants, Adult Leaders, and Young Adult Leaders. See below for the requirements for each role.

OYMT is based in the Northeast. We accept individual members who live within driving distance of one of our two training locations in Orange, CT and Springfield, VT. Generally, if applicants inquire from beyond these states, we will connect you to an existing OYMT Satellite Team within driving distance, or we can help you establish your own Satellite Team. Individual applicants from outside the Northeast are considered on a case-by-case basis each year depending upon logistical capacity.

The 2027 Summer Mission trip is open to Orthodox youth ages 13-18 at the time of the trip, who will complete grades 7-12 in the 2026-2027 school year. Scroll to Step 1 to apply.

Orthodox adults ages 25+ are encouraged to join our team as Adult Leaders. Scroll to Step 1 to register.

Orthodox adults ages 18-24 and at least one year removed from high school graduation may join OYMT as a Young Adult Leader. A special training schedule, volunteer fee, and responsibilities apply for this role. Scroll to Step 1 to register.

If you live outside the Northeast (excluding returning members), do not follow the steps below. Instead, reach out to Lexi via email to be connected to an existing Satellite Team, start your own Satellite Team, or apply as an individual.

Satellite Teams require a minimum of 2 adults and 4 youth.

Each Youth, Young Adult Leader, and Adult Leader will receive an acceptance email from Lexi by October 22nd (or earlier).

You will then receive a Docusign request to sign the following (with a parent/legal guardian if a Youth):

  1. OYMT Covenant
  2. 2026-2027 OYMT Schedule (to initial beside each date)
  3. Participation Waiver & Release

Adult Leaders and Young Adult Leaders will also receive links to authorize their annual background check and complete a child safety training.

Step 3

Participant Fees are due in full upon registration. The cost per participant for the year is:

  • Youth: $350

You can pay on our website (click any Donate button) or by mailing/handing Lexi a check made out to OYMT.

A scholarship application is available upon request and due no later than October 31, 2026. The maximum scholarship available is $175 per youth. YALs should reach out to Lexi if financial aid is needed.

Your spot on the team is not confirmed unless and until your Participant Fee is received.

Step 4

ATTEND ALL TRAININGS

Click the arrow above to view the 2026-2027 OYMT Schedule

All events on the schedule (other than the Fundraising Gala and Auction) are required for each team member – Youth, Young Adult Leaders, and Adult Leaders.

We can accommodate up to one absence per member with advance notice and approval (barring an emergency). We cannot accommodate absences from Training #4 (Team Retreat).

Members are required to attend each training in full. This requires leaving early to beat traffic and arrive on time, and not leaving early. Members will not be permitted to arrive late or leave early from the Mission Trip or Team Retreat.

No-call-no-show absences will not be tolerated (absent an emergency).

By joining OYMT, what are you committing to?

By signing the OYMT Covenant and initialing the 2026-2027 OYMT Schedule, you are agreeing to attend all trainings, meetings, and fundraisers. If you need to miss one training, you are agreeing to notify Lexi in advance and obtain permission. No-call-no-show absences will not be tolerated.

You are agreeing to pay your Participant Fee ($350 per youth per year; $175 per YAL per year) by November 8th. You understand that the scholarship application closes on October 31st and no aid can be offered after that time.

Each OYMT team member is required to actively fundraise to cover all other costs. Both youth and adults must participate in stock sales, parish fundraisers, and any other fundraising initiatives, and support our Fundraising Gala and Auction.

OYMT gives youth the opportunity to take on adult commitments and improve their communication skills. All participants, including youth, are required to maintain an email address and check it regularly to stay on top of trainings and deadlines. Each member is required to maintain open communication with Lexi if a conflict, issue, or concern arises so we can resolve it together.

Each participant is responsible for staying on top of all deadlines and requirements. Failure to submit all required tasks by established deadlines will result in dismissal from the team with no refunds.

By signing the OYMT Covenant, you are agreeing to enthusiastically participate in the 2027 Summer Mission Trip. Members may not arrive late or leave early from the Mission Trip. OYMT incurs a financial loss of approximately $1,000 per member who withdraws or is removed from the Mission Trip after April 1st. As such, these members are generally not invited back for future opportunities. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the team!
